Prerequisite for access to level 4 professional course – 10 days

To be a successful therapist it is crucial that you understand how the body functions normally and what happens when it becomes diseased. Throughout this course you will be introduced to each body function, given information on how it works, what happens when it doesn’t work and common problems and diseases that can affect it.

By the end of the course you will:

  • Have a general understanding of the workings of the human body
  • Have an understanding of the anatomical terms associated with describing the human body
  • Have an awareness of the chemistry underlying the functioning of the human body
  • Have an understanding of the organisation of the human body from cells to systems
  • Have a thorough understanding of the normal physiology of the human body
  • Develop an awareness of what constitutes a deviation from normal functioning
  • Be able to describe symptoms and signs of these deviations
  • Develop an awareness of how the human body responds to stress
  • Be able to explain the mechanisms by which repair may be affected
